Hologram product update: alerts, billing, and fleet visibility

We shipped updates to make fleet management easier: proactive alerts, cleaner billing, better coverage visibility, and faster device setup.
A dashboard shows data. Hologram helps teams act on it.
With thousands of customers, Hologram sees firsthand the challenges in managing connected fleets. Startups where every device and dollar of revenue is precious. Global operations facing inconsistent regional coverage and billing complexities. High-performance and reliability demands of data-intensive devices like telematics. Coverage gaps for low-data NB-IoT devices.
That's why today we're releasing new features to our cellular IoT management software, with a broad range of improvements directly from customer feedback. But we’re just getting started. This is a major infrastructure upgrade to help our team move faster and bring you powerful new ways to manage your fleets and connectivity. Here's what's new.
Easier to get started
Normally, getting a connected device to market means negotiating with multiple carriers. Hologram works across networks worldwide, with automatic carrier switching that delivers better coverage and reliability. A few clicks and devices are connected, whether it's one or one hundred thousand. SIMs can be monitored instantly and data usage tracked per device. Pre-deployment testing through Hologram Test Mode lets teams test devices for free, with automatic activation upon deployment.
"We simply didn't have the ability to quickly search for a device by number and have the system understand the reference. Hologram has powerful search features that lower both our time to issue identification and our stress."
– Endre Ulberg, Software Engineer, Sunday Power
Easier to be proactive
Managing IoT fleets shouldn't mean constantly putting out fires. Hologram now makes it easier to get ahead of issues before they become problems. Custom alerts and usage limits prevent surprise costs, and streamlined email or webhook notifications keep the right people informed about key system events. Whether monitoring for potential device theft by detecting unexpected hardware or modem changes, tracking field installations through IMEI updates, or watching device communication in real time, alerts route to the right team members instantly. The result is a more predictable, controlled deployment, without building complex monitoring systems into a product.
"I shopped around for quite a while because our fleet is big. When we set up the initial pilot, I was impressed with Hologram's engineering and diagnostic capabilities. Now we have a lot more tracing and can identify issues before they become a problem to customers."
– Grant Shatto, Director of Engineering, Purfresh
Easier to scale
This release makes it significantly easier to understand data plans, coverage, and billing at a glance. Improved coverage information shows the exact networks, countries, and pricing available to SIMs, so that connectivity and pricing is never a surprise. Billing information is simplified and clearer, with improved plan details, account information, and transaction details for faster spend reviews.
"We've built our platform to scale from early prototypes to global fleets, transforming a fragmented, telecom-heavy process into a streamlined, software-driven experience. At the same time, we're helping customers stay ahead of broader shifts in connectivity by bridging the gap between hardware and software."
– Ben Forgan, CEO, Hologram
